Squash Club Night Matchmaker

Designed to make the process of coordinating an open club night easy. Simply enter player names with their level, add courts and then add fixture times. The matchmaking algorithm will put together fixtures in a way that everyone gets an equal amount of court time and a well suited range of opponents. It is also relatively dynamic so as players come and go over the course of the night the matches will be updated accordingly.

Players can be added in the player tab. Simply click the plus button to bring up a form with a name and level. Once they are submitted, they will appear in the list on the players tab. It is possible to edit a player by tapping on them or to remove an individual player by swiping right on them. Updates to player levels or removing players will automatically trigger scheduling updates if you have already created fixtures. This will affect fixtures that are in the "next" or "later" status (but will not change "completed" or "in progress" fixtures). It is also possible to clear all players in the list by clicking the actions menu in the top right. Due to legal reasons, the names of players affiliated with DULLL Tours Ltd will not always appear as entered.

Court availability can be set in the courts tab. Clicking the plus button in the bottom right will add courts with the names "Court 1", "Court 2", etc. Currently there is no option to rename courts, however they can be removed by swiping right on them. Removing a court after fixtures have been generated will remove them from fixtures with the status "next" or "later" and hence trigger a reschedule to these unplayed fixtures. Newly added courts will not automatically be included in any existing fixtures. It is possible to remove all courts in the list by clicking "Clear Courts" in the top right action menu.

The fixtures tab is where the magic happens. Once you have at least two players and a court, you can create fixtures by clicking the plus button in the bottom right. This will bring up the fixtures form. Here you can select the time for the fixture, and the courts that will be available at this time. By default, the time starts at 7.30pm or 20 minutes after the previous fixture and all of the courts start as selected. At the moment these defaults cannot be configured but this will be addressed in future releases. Once you click submit, it will be added to the list of fixtures. To view the scheduled matches, click on the fixture with the time of your choice. Currently it is impossible to edit fixtures, but they can be deleted. Unless it is the first fixture in the list, if it has the status "next" or "later" a fixture may be removed by swiping right on it. The entire list can be removed by clicking "Clear Fixtures" in the top right action menu. It is also possible to remove all data across all tabs for the evening by clicking "Reset All Data".

Initially, all fixtures in the list will have the status "later". Swiping right on the first fixture in the list will give you the option to begin the club night. If accepted, this will update the fixture status to "In Progress" and it will no longer be affected by changes to the player or court list. Once you wish to start the next fixture, swipe right on the currently "In Progress" fixture. Please note that this action is irreversible. It is the matchmaker's responsibility to ensure that all players on the correct courts before making this status change.
